1991 - present

The current fully graphic, reflective issue appeared in early 1991 when the previous black on gold base expired.

Astrographics Dies: 1991 to 2001

Despite the new series technically starting at AAA-00, the Territory made a concerted effort to randomize the use of letters and issued plates from the 'A--' and early 'B--' series concurrently. As can be seen in the examples below, the 'A--' series would last for the decade.

It is thought that plates in the 'BA-' to 'BC-' bloc were distributed in 1991 and issued over the proceeding few years. The remainder of the series produced by Astrographics, being platres in the 'BD-' through to 'BMV' bloc were not released until the mid-1990s. It is thought that the space between the letters and numbers disappeared somwhere in the 'BLK' bloc.

As the 'C--' and 'D--' blocs are reserved for Commercial and Dealer plates, respectively, the next series started at 'EAA-00' in approximately 1999. The Astrographics dies would appear on these plates until about 2001 and the 'ECV' point in the series.

HiSigns Dies: 2001 to 2006

In 2000, HiSigns Industries of Edmonton won a five year contract to produce Yukon licence plates, marking the first time in almost XX years that Astrographics would not be the manufacturer. This change began to appear the following year when the remainder of the 'A--' bloc began to be issued with HiSigns dies, starting with plates in the AXF or AXG to AZZ.

The design of the plates was also modified in minor ways, with the small spaces between the lines at the top of the plate and a short Klondike slogan.

HiSigns also issued the remaining bloc of 'B--' plates starting at this same time, with the 'BOA' through to to at least BVP being issued by 2004.

HiSigns also picked up the 'E--' bloc from where Astrographics had left off when it lost the contract, issuing plates from 'EEC' through to at least 'EKX', before its own contract expired in 2006.

Astrographics Dies: 2007 to present

Astrographics would win the contract back in 2005 and would begin to manufacture plates starting at 'ELA' with its dies for issuance around 2007 (or thereabouts) through to 'EZZ' by 2011. The return of the Astrographics dies also saw a return to the traditional design used throughout the 1990s (i.e. spacing of the words "The Klondike" at the top of the plate).
